More fun at the lake

All the boys taking their naps....Kaden (far left), Garrett (middle), and Brady (right). What you can't see is on the far far left, Mike is asleep in the chair. I guess the boys do take after their papa.

After the stress of getting ready for Garrett's big party, we decided to end the weekend with a relaxing trip to the lake. It was a beautiful weekend for boating. A great time was had by all. Zayda has been enjoying not having to take a nap this summer when we go boating but the other boys weren't so lucky!! Garrett is enjoying the lake water but now isn't so sure about the bath tub - go figure!!

Garrett's First Birthday!!!

So.....since the party was outside and it was so hot outside...what better way to clean off all of the cake than a good soaking with the hose. It actually worked out pretty well and since it was so hot outside, the water from the hose was pretty warm. :)

I can't believe my baby boy is one year old. Everyone tells you when you are pregnant how quickly they grow up. Until you live with a child you never truly understand how quickly time goes by. Now, our second child is a year old and I don't know where time has gone. We had a cookout at our home for his first birthday. The weather was gorgeous and the food and company was wonderful. We found these adorable cakes at Marsh so we didn't really have a theme to his party. Although Garrett wasn't much into opening his presents, he was really into eating his cake. I have to say, in all of the first birthday parties I have been to, I think he literally takes the cake for the messiest cake smasher of all time!! He received wonderful gifts and really seemed to enjoy all of the company. Thank you to all who attended and we hope you have enjoyed his first year as much as we have.

a ROARING good time....

Zayda thought that getting to feed the giraffe was really cool!! Just behind her is the baby giraffe that was born at the zoo.
Garrett was amazed by all the animals and just kept pointing at all of the animals.
Talk about capturing the moment!!!
Uncle Nick and Zayda acting like monkeys.....(acting like)......yeah right!

My hospital every year has a picnic day that includes tickets to the Zoo, IMAX, Indiana State Museum, and Eiteljorg Museum. This year, the weekend option picnic was on Thursday July 31st. So, since Keith had to work, I rounded up Nick and Laurie and their son Kaden to join us for lots of fun at the Zoo!! Despite the hot weather, we had a ball!! The kids all seemed to love it, even the little guys seemed to really like watching the animals. Kaden kept waving at all of them and Garrett just kept pointing at all of them. Garrett loved the dolphin show. He watched the dolphins like a hawk and kept bouncing up and down with excitement. It was a great day!!

WEDDING DAY!!!

Getting ready for the big day was probably the most stressful part for mommy. I decided to do Zayda's hair by myself instead of taking her to have it done. I thought it turned out great but there was a lot of pressure to making sure that it looked good. I was very proud of the way it turned out. Zayda was perfect and sat still for me the whole time. Once she was ready, the rest of the day was a breeze.

Here, Zayda is showing off one of her fancy dance moves by kicking her feet up into the air. I just happened to catch her while she was airborne. I don't know what it is about my family and their dance moves at weddings. I guess she gets it from her daddy!!!

Zayda was very proud to be such a special part of Frog and Heather's Wedding. Mommy and Daddy were very proud of her as well. At the very last moment, Josie, the other flower girl, got scared and wouldn't walk down the aisle. Zayda still walked down and did a great job. She even stood up by the bridesmaids for the whole wedding. She asked the maid of honor during the ceremony if she could wipe off Uncle Frog's head because he was sweating so much. :) She is just too cute.

This was probably the most anticipated wedding for a 4 year old that there has ever been. Zayda has been counting down the months and days until her Uncle Frog and Aunt Heather's wedding. She was an amazing flower girl if I must say so myself. She was very well behaved all the way from the rehearsal to getting ready to walking down the aisle to standing still during the wedding to dancing at the reception. Let me just say that this girl can dance. And dance the night away she did. She danced until we finally left at midnight. The wedding was beautiful and Heather was such an incredible bride. Congrats to Frog and Heather and we look forward to many great memories in the future.
